Everyman Theatre
MCA Systems Ltd. is delighted to have been involved with the refurbishment project of The Everyman Theatre in Liverpool.
The building fabric was designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating, unusual for an energy-intensive urban theatre, and combines thermally massive construction with a series of natural ventilation systems and low energy construction methods and materials.
Natural ventilation for the main performance and workspaces is achieved using large roof vents and underfloor intake plenums, with offices and other spaces ventilated with opening windows. A fully exposed concrete structure with a high percentage of cement replacement aids natural cooling.
MCA Systems Ltd. were employed to provide a full Cylon BMS to control the Heating, Cooling, mechanical and natural Ventilation services which were installed as part of this project. The installed system includes a web-based supervisory package which will allow the BMS to be monitored and adjusted using a familiar web browser environment – over the internet, through a local intranet or on a PC connected directly to the BMS controllers.
SS Nomadic
The historic SS Nomadic is now sitting in Hamilton Dock in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter. It is the last remaining White Star Line ship fully restored to her original 1911 glory. Works included complete new building services including interpretation and interactive displays.
This was a hugely unique and challenging project that required a bespoke solution which required a lot of work and co-operation between various parties which resulted in a solution that satisfied the client and also complied with regulations.
MCA Systems Ltd.'s services were secured to design, supply, configure and provide documentation and commissioning of the BEMS in conjunction with the mechanical design.
Part of our remit also included for the manufacture and commissioning of the associated Motor Control Panels, the supply of all associated hardware, software and connected sensors and actuators.
